Brush Calligraphy 101

Learn the basics of brush calligraphy through drawing fancy letters with the use of watercolors. No need for expensive brush pens! Just bring the following materials on the workshop day: Oslo drawing paper (a pack of it will do!), watercolor set (preferably the brand Prang), synthetic pointed brush no. 2 (preferably Sakura/Berkeley/Momiji brands || available at NBS/art supplies stores), pencil (optional), and your awesome self. :) The rest of the materials (and handouts!) will be provided on the workshop day. Yay!

Skills exchange (teach me how to draw/watercolor female faces to be used for illustrations)

A critical skill that the facilitator uses for coming up with training modules, talks and speeches. A critical skill useful for accomplishing anything that needs your ideas. Find your own voice and speak up. Requirements: - a functioning voice box - a well-rested mind - something to write on - something to write with - something to design with (if you like to doodle and color) - any random object you find beside you - a paper where you have written why you decided to take this class

Intro to Making Rubbercut Stamps

This class teaches you the basics on how to make rubbercut stamps from scratch. The class touches on materials used, techniques, things you can do with your stamps and of course, hands-on stamp-making. For the class, please bring the following materials: 1. Wood carving tools / lino cutters available at NBS and Deovir OR Speedball lino cutter available at Deovir or from online sellers like create by TLF 2. Rubber erasers and/or soft rubber carving blocks 3. Cutting mat (can be improvised as long as it prevents the table from being scratched) 4. Xacto knife 5. Pencil - preferably HB or darker; tracing paper 6. Stamp pad 7. Blank postcards/greeting cards, notebooks witj blank covers or anything you might want to decorate with your new stamps

Bring one of the following:
a 5-/10-day itinerary for an international destination you have already been to (may be cross-country)
book in English by a Filipino author - preferably used and with highlights of your favorite passages and quotes
cute iPad2 or s4 case
food/coffee shop/grocery/NBS GC
notebook/s with blank kraft covers
