Visual Storytelling

This interactive workshop will show you the skills needed to analyze, critique, and re-imagine works of visual media such as television, film, photography, etc. We'll focus on language, concepts and standard techniques used to tell stories and convey meaning in various genres and formats. You can use these skills to better understand how writers, directors and producers use coded language to communicate with audiences of any visual media! Please bring a print ad from a magazine, newspaper, or mailbox flyer for an in-class exercise.

Bring one of the following:
fresh herbs
freshly baked goods
packaged local coffee or tea
various cat or dog supplies (food, litter, toys, leashes, collars, etc.) to donate to FACE on Mass Ave
volunteer hours for this class as a facilitator (must be an approved TS facilitator)
