Running for People that Hate Running

Does signing up for that 5k with friends sound fun but also give you bad flashbacks to high school gym? This class is for you. In this class we will be learn about how to get started with walking and running. We will be covering different running plans for beginners, the jargon you need to know, how to buy your first running shoes, picking your first race and more. You will also be provided with a list of resources for runners in Indianapolis.

Bring one of the following:
*I have attended a training and arranged with Trade School to be the class volunteer
a book you love with a note why
a surprise from a local business
local fruits/ veggies
potted succulent
running nutrition (gels, beans, gummies, etc.)
something else you'd like to offer (my contact info is in the registration email)

About the teacher, Darcy Marlett

Darcy Marlett is the world's least likely runner. An asthmatic who once failed 1st grade gym she has now run over 500 miles and participated in 14 races including the Nike Women's Half Marathon in San Francisco. When not running she is a non-profit communications director, home cook, and avid volunteer around Indy.
