Needleturn Applique is a common hand-sewing technique frequently used in quilts, though its applications extend far beyond them! Applique is a means of creating pictures with fabric where you can create any shape or combinations of shapes you like. In this class, we will all participate in a group project and complete an individual applique square that will then be sewn into a quilted Trade School Indianapolis flag. This is a beginner’s project with no previous skill required. Sophie will be leading this class with her mother Diane. Applique is one of their favorite techniques to use in their quilts because of its artistic potential, and also the time and love its inclusion in a quilt demonstrates!

Bring one of the following:

fresh local produce
homemade/paper crafted/collaged bookmarks or stationary (the zanier, the better!)
