Do you miss having the opportunity to create with the freedom you had in elementary school? Or maybe you just need an evening to play with other adults in a structured setting? Come experience one local art teacher's favorite strategy for teaching visual art: Teaching for Artistic Behavior, through art-making centers. Centers will include the following options: drawing, collage, tempera painting, crochet (on your finger, or with a hook!), architecture with blocks & other 3-D forms, & sculpture with found objects (from an elementary art room).

Bring one of the following:
*email to volunteer at this class (this is your barter!)
*have your own goods or services to offer? arrange your own barter by emailing your teacher
A bottle of sweet wine
A kid-friendly, art-related, book
A work of art to donate to my art room
Rainbow-colored anything
Your favorite chocolates

About the teacher, Chapin Schnick

Chapin (pronounced "Chay-pin") is a 31 year-old elementary art teacher who loves to inspire her students to explore various modes of art-making through play. She is in her 9th year of teaching, after BAs in Art Education, Art History, and Ceramics from Purdue University, and an MA from MICA (the Maryland Institute College of Art).
