Developing Your Writing Voice

In this creative writing workshop you will discover tools for experimenting with your written voice. By learning from the masters and trying a wide variety of techniques, you will gain strategies for developing your signature style. This class will focus on imitation exercises and modeling those characteristics that distinguish one writer from the next. Almost certainly with this method, you will begin to see signs of your own voice peeking through the exercises. Bring pen and paper, an open mind & a sense of adventure!

Bring one of the following:
Dark Chocolate
Funky Fabric
Funky Stationary
Seeds (Native Flowers or Heirloom Vegetables - Tomatoes)
Sheet Music (Blues, Ragtime, Honky Tonk, Jazz) for Piano

About the teacher, Jessica Reed

Jessica is a maker and celebrator of things superbly made. She loves the clean lines of physics, mathematics, and philosophy as well as pastiche in art forms ranging from jazz to collage to experimental literature. She is a writer and science appreciator, having formally studied physics, poetry, and philosophy. Jessica is also passionate about sustainable living and lives in the country with her husband, gardens, composting worms, and seven chickens!
