Want to advocate for the common good? Want to influence public policy for a better world? Convinced no one can do anything to make a change? Well, that's simply not true! There are things everyone can do right now to raise a voice and influence the decisions related to topics around the world. You can be an effective voice for real change. This class will offer background information and a few practical starter tips to help you on your way. Keep in mind that the focus of the class will be on influencing Congress, but the practical tips you learn will be applicable if you're influencing the statehouse or even the township council! Don’t have a specific topic in mind? I will offer examples about my work in global poverty for you to practice with. You are encouraged to bring a topic - including background information - you would like to advocate on so that you can be coached on writing a letter to a member of Congress or to an editor.
