A 72 hour B.O.B. (or Go Bag) is a portable kit that contains items to help support an individual as far as basic comfort, sanitation, and consumption needs for up to 3 days. It is mainly used for evacuating an area from a disaster or place of danger to get to a place of safety, but can be used for many other reasons. It is kind of like an insurance policy, you hope you never need to use it, but if you have one it helps make the situation a little less stressful. Many items that go in a bug out bag you probably already own. This class will help you learn simple and inexpensive steps to put your own basic "non-advanced" B.O.B. together. It is recommended that everyone in the family should have their own personal bug out bag. if you don't have one put together, then this class would be a good place to start!

About the teacher, Mary Louzon

In September 2002, Mary Louzon and her family had to rebuild their home after a tornado. Mary wasn't at home during the tornado, but after going through that experience, it made her want to learn at least the basics on how to try and be a little better prepared if another emergency situation occurs. She has taken the CERT(Community Emergency Response Team)Training offered by Marion County and a number of courses on basic emergency preparedness. It is recommended that everyone have their own emergency kit. Mary is passionate about sharing this information so others can be a little more prepared to help take care of themselves and their families.
